| Moving Coil Direct Current meters
Micro-ammeters Milli-ammeters Ammeters All are tested and will be checked again before dispatch and also cleaned- photographs are mostly of instruments not yet cleaned! Full scale ranges are approximate -within about 20% but mostly much better. If shunts or series resistors required to match the meter scale, these can often be supplied at small or no extra cost. Dimensions are overall including bezel and terminals. Further details or pictures on request. Services types have a blue highlighted background to the pictures. NOTE - Sensitive (milli-amp and micro-amp) direct current meters can be converted to voltmeters with suitable external resistors at no extra cost. They can mostly be converted to a.c. meters with the addition of external components for 1 GBP extra. |

Moving Coil Scaled 0-120psi. 28V. Sangamo Weston with 2 x 3.5k ohm coils. 270 degree scale. 60mm square flange with 47mm centres captive nuts. 70mm deep. Unused from sealed boxes. These twin coil meters operate in a mode that does not rely on the spring couple or voltage for accuracy. Terminal 1 is + supply, Terminals 3 and 4 are normally connected to the ends of a 5k ohm sensing potentiometer whose wiper is connected to the - supply. The potentiometer will then control the reading from zero to full scale. Can also operate with a single variable resistor and a fixed trimmer in the other arm. The system operates as low as 12 volts. |
